Order Interference (2021)

Abstract conceptual development to a final model.

Interpretive sketches inspired by the journey from Civic Square to the Waterfront.

These sketches then translated into a simple physical model expressing basic shapes and turbulence.

The resulting pavilion uses large monolithic concrete structures that play with framing light/sky and open/enclosed space.

Translating back to the physical, the idea of the pavilion was deconstructed to create something completely different.

Monolithic in nature, small figures wander through the maze-like space.

Clay was used to construct the model, with balsa and paper being used for the stair and bridge structure.
