がさっ!(gassa!)(2023)

がさっ!, which translates to 'in one fell swoop', is the design of a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Treatment and Research Centre which is designed unique to it's surrounding context and responds to the specific needs of people suffering from MS.

A sweeping roof captures the entire complex, simplifying the complexities of what lay within.

An interior garden space, shielded from cold winds and weather, allowing users a peaceful place to wander.

The atrium becomes a ravine-like space, welcoming the recreational functions to the left, and treatment functions to the right.

Irregular shapes and curves were used when developing overall and spatial arrangements.

Using natural curves allowed spaces to develop more freely and suited to the function.

Irregularly shaped patches create a permeable interior garden space which invites movement and exploration, while paved spaces are wide enough for all to enjoy.
